Online Auction
Guidelines
1. If you are interested in participating
in an online auction, you must first obtain a Bidder ID. This unique
Bidder ID will be used to identify the current bidder. Please contact
Penny Kemp, Special Events Coordinator at (705) 743-3526 ext. 116 or
pkemp@ywcapterborough.org
to get your ID. YWCA Online Auctions are open to any person
who has reached the age of majority in their home province or state.
2. All items in the 2011 YWCA Online Auction are “as is, where is”. A
detailed description of each item(s) (to the best of the YWCA’s
knowledge) is provided but bidders are responsible for verifying any
flaws.
3. Photos of current online auction items are available at
Online Auction Items. *Please note that
online bids featured on this page may not always accurately represent
the current highest bid due to technical delays beyond the YWCA’s
control.
4. Anyone interested in viewing current online auction items can do so
in person by appointment only Monday - Friday, from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm by
contacting Penny Kemp at (705) 743-3526 ext. 116 or
pkemp@ywcapeterborough.org.
5. Participants may place bids by telephone, in person or by e-mail to
Penny Kemp at (705) 743-3526 or pkemp@ywcapeterborough.org. * Please
note that bidders are responsible for getting their bids in by closing
time. If you are e-mailing a bid close to the end of the auction, please
be aware that servers can be slow and your bid may not be received in
time. The YWCA is not responsible for any bids not received in time.
6. Bidding increments must be greater than $5.00.
7. Each bid shall be considered legally
binding to the purchaser.
8. Participants may submit their maximum
bid on any given item at any time to Penny Kemp at (705) 743-3526 ext.
116 or
pkemp@ywcapeterborough.org, with the understanding that their bid
will be automatically increased in $5.00 increments until their maximum
bid is achieved.
9. YWCA staff involved in running the
current online auction may participate in the current online auction
under the following guidelines:
a. Staff must submit their sealed
bid(s) (per item) to Margaret Soles, Administrative Assistant,
within the first day the auction is open for bidding.
b. Bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes and will only be
opened at the end of the online auction.
c. Staff will acknowledge that they can only submit one sealed bid
(per item) and that they cannot alter their final bid at any time.
d. If
the sealed bid on any auction item is higher than the closing bid,
the sealed bid will be deemed the winning bid and the bidder must
pay that amount.
e. If two or more sealed bids are submitted for the same value,
participants will be asked to submit another sealed bid until the
highest bid is achieved.
10. Participants who have the highest bid
at the close of the auction may pay for their online auction item(s) by
cash, cheque or credit card at the front desk of the YWCA Administrative
Office, located at 216 Simcoe Street, Peterborough.
11. Auction item(s) must be paid in full and collected from the YWCA
premises within 7 days (one week) following the official closing date of
the online auction.
12. Auction item(s) not collected and/or paid for by the 8th day
following the official closing date of the online auction will be
offered to the participant who placed the 2nd highest bid. If the
auction item(s) is not claimed by the 2nd highest bidder, the auction
item(s) will remain the property of the YWCA.
