Centennial Crescent Centennial Crescent provides safe and affordable long-term housing for women and children in a Peterborough townhouse community.

Centennial Crescent provides safe and affordable long-term housing for women and children in a Peterborough townhouse community. As an alternative housing provider, we house women and children leaving abusive relationships, and our tenancy agreements are restricted to woman-led households. Rent is dependent on each tenant's ability to pay.

  • There are 40 beautiful 1, 2, 3, and 4 bedroom units, two of which are one-bedroom accessible units.
  • Rent is geared to income and includes hydro. There is an additional cost for gas heat, hot water, and parking.
  • Laundry facilities are on site.
  • We offer our tenants the use of our multi-purpose, accessible community room for meetings, parties and gatherings.
  • We have a community garden, barbecue area and a play area for children.
  • A Second Stage Support Worker is available onsite.

How can I be a part of this community?

YWCA Centennial Crescent participates in the centralized access system for the City and County of Peterborough. This means that you must apply to Housing Access Peterborough, by calling 705-742-4499 or, for more information, please visit Housing Access Peterborough. You will be required to complete an application and select YWCA Centennial Crescent as one of your options. There is a waiting list that is managed by Housing Access Peterborough.

How long can I stay?

Centennial Crescent is long-term housing, which means you can stay as long as you need the services provided by our staff and program, and as long as you maintain your eligibility (women-led households).

Our Staff

On-site staff consists of the Housing Administrator, Maintenance Worker, and Second Stage Support Worker. We offer support services on site to our tenants through our Second Stage Support Worker. Services offered may range from help finding information, referrals to other needed services, community activities and groups, or simply a shoulder to lean on.

What's in the neighborhood?

Centennial Crescent is located in the City of Peterborough, close to all amenities, in a lovely residential area with access to a city park and outdoor skating rink. Access to the City transit system is only steps away.
