Each year
during the third week of October, Canadians bond with people in over 90
countries around the world to mark YWCA’s Week Without Violence™, a
week-long series of community events promoting diverse approaches to
creating a violence-free world. The 2010 Week Without Violence is being

JULY 2010
Royal
LePage Lakes of Haliburton Brokerage presented a cheque for $1,036.98 to
the Haliburton Emergency Rural Safespace (HERS) on July 21 in front of
their Minden office – the same space where they raised the funds on May
15 at their first annual Garage Sale for Shelter.
Half of the funds raised were
donated locally to HERS, while the other half went to support violence
prevention programs across Canada. Daisy Downs and Laura Redman from the
YWCA Women’s Centre received the cheque from Patti Johnson and Vicki
Sisson on behalf of Royal LePage.
