A crisis and support service for women in abusive relationships

WE CAN HELP!

Women's Safety Network - Rural Outreach

The Women's Safety Network - Rural Outreach program reaches out to rural women in Peterborough and Haliburton Counties.

Help ... in a crisis

We offer crisis assistance to help women and their children who are experiencing an abusive or controlling relationship. Our services include:
  • Crisis counselling - by phone or in person
  • Emergency transportation to safety
  • Safety planning for women who need help to leave
and to create a plan for their future
Help ... during difficult times

We offer help to women who have left an abusive relationship and to women who are not yet ready to leave but require support and information.

  • Encouragement and support
  • Counselling to understand abuse and its effects
  • Information and referrals
  • Planning for safety and change
  • Accompaniment to appointments
  • Court support
  • Support groups
  • Home visits, when appropriate

Help ... to understand the system

The courts, welfare and other systems can be intimidating. They can be especially traumatic for women who are tying to regain control of their lives. Often women are isolated and need assistance interpreting these systems. We help women make choices that work for them.
